DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY (D PHARMA)

  • DPharma is a two year diploma course pursued by students after the completion of 10+2.
  • This is the shortest pharmacy course that focuses on imparting deep knowledge about the production, consumption, advantages and disadvantages of all the medicines and drugs.
  • A student must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology) from a recognized board of education.
  • The minimum age limit to pursue this course is 17 years and there is no age limit to pursue this course.
  • Subjects taught in D. Pharma are Pharmacognosy, Biochemistry and Clinical Pathology, Human Anatomy and Physiology , Health Education and Community Pharmacy, Human Anatomy and Physiology      , Health Education and Community Pharmacy, etc.
  • The annual course fee for D. Pharma is 50,000rs to 55,000rs.
  • Graduates can work as Pharmacist, Scientific Officer, Production Executive, Medical Transcriptionist
  • The average annual salary of D. Pharma professionals is 1lakh to 3.5lakh.
  • Some of the recruiting companies are Cipla, Abott India, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Biocon, Novartis, Baxter, etc.




Pharm D

  • Pharm D is a six year doctorate course (five year academic study and one year internship) pursued by students after the completion of 10+2.
  • This course covers uses, production and application of medicines with respect to the disease that the patient is suffering.
  • A student must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% in Science (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology) from a recognized board of education.
  • The minimum age limit to pursue this course is 17 years and the maximum age limit is 23 years as on 31st December of the same year.
  • Subjects taught in Pharm. D are Human Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutics, Medicinal Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry.
  • The annual course fee for Pharma D is 1.75 lakh to 4 lakh.
  • Graduates can work as Pharmacists, drug experts, retail pharmacists, hospital pharmacy director, hospital staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, etc.
  • Some of the recruiting organizations are Home health care, community pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, geriatric pharmacy, managed care, governmental agencies, etc.

 

D Pharma and Pharm D are both Pharmacy courses pursued by the students of the Science stream.
