All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is a university-level entrance exam conducted by National Law University, Delhi. This test is a gateway to Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and Doctorate (Ph.D.) courses. AILET is conducted for admission to National Law University, Delhi only. The university does not use any other test scores for granting admission to students.
ELIGIBILITY
FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% from a recognized board of education.
- Candidates applying for qualifying exam (10+2) are also eligible for AILET.
POST GRADUATE PROGRAM
- Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree (LL.B/B.L) or an equivalent degree from a recognized university with not less than 55% marks.
- Candidates applying for LLB final year exam may also apply for AILET.
DOCTORATE PROGRAM
- Candidates must hold a Masters Degree (LLM) with a minimum of 55% from a recognized university.
- Candidates holding law degree along with a master’s degree such as MPhil in Social Sciences/ Humanities from any recognised university with minimum of 55% marks should have conducted research work relevant to any discipline of law and with a special focus on topics like Public Policy of Law.
- Candidates who have completed a degree in law and a PhD in any discipline.
- Candidates who have worked as a State High Court Judge in India for at least three years or Judge at Supreme Court of India.

AILET application form can be filled online and students can appear for the test once a year. This is a very important exam for admission to National Law University, Delhi. In the year 2020, the exam was conducted in online mode for the first time due to COVID 19 otherwise the test is always conducted in offline mode. Every year many students appear for AILET for admission to National Law University and emerge out as professionals.
