Bachelor in Engineering (BTech) is a 4 year undergraduate course divided in to 8 semesters, pursued by students after the completion of 10+2 with PCM from a recognized board. B.Tech degree is offered in various specialisations such as Mechanical Engineering, Computer Sciences Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Geo science Engineering and many more. These are some of the specializations that offer bright career prospects to the students. There are several government as well as private colleges in India that offer this course. For getting admission in a govt. college, students need to qualify entrance exam conducted at national or state level. After getting qualifying rank in JEE, students are allotted govt. colleges. Admission is then done through counseling. On the other hand, private colleges grant admission on merit basis. Moreover, private universities offer scholarship facility also. It must be noted that the minimum age for admission in this course is 17 years on or before 31st December of the same year and maximum age limit for pursuing this course is 23years.
