West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE)

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) once a year. This test allows students to take admission into Engineering, technology, architecture, and pharmacy courses in the colleges of West Bengal.

ELIGIBILITY
  • For Engineering Courses – Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry along with any one of Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer Science/ Computer Application/ Technical Vocational as compulsory subjects.
  • For Pharmacy Courses – Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology as compulsory subjects.
  • The lower age limit to appear for the exam is 17years as on 31st December of the same year. There is no upper age limit for except Marine Engineering which is 25 years.
  • Applicant must be a citizen of India.

EXAM PATTERN

  • WBJEE exam consists of two papers– Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry)
  • Candidates taking both Paper 1 and Paper 2 are eligible for admission in Engineering, Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy programs.
  • Candidates taking only Paper 1 are not eligible for any course.
  • Candidates taking only Paper 2 are eligible for admission in Pharmacy courses.
  • The exam is conducted in offline mode.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • There are total 150 multiple choice questions.
  • The total marks for WBJEE 2021 are 200. There is negative marking for category 1 & 2 questions while no negative marking for Category 3 questions.

WBJEE is conducted every year for aspirants aiming to get admission in reputed government or private institutes in West Bengal.
